Position Description

The Department of Biostatistics (Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health) is seeking candidates with a PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics for a one-year postdoctoral position, with the possibility of extension to a second year. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on a project funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to integrate data from several longitudinal cohort studies designed to assess the impact of pre-natal alcohol exposure on subsequent neuro-psychological development. Statistical challenges will include the analysis of multiple outcome data, measured repeatedly over time, as well as inevitable issues such as missing data. The successful candidate will be part of the vibrant Environmental Statistics Program at Harvard and will work under the direct supervision of Professor Louise Ryan, formerly Chair, Department of Biostatistics, who currently holds an adjunct appointment in the Department.

Basic Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field; familiarity with some or all of the following topics are encouraged: analysis of observational data, meta-analysis, Bayesian methods, latent variables and structural equations modelling. Excellent programming skills (e.g., in SAS and R) and excellent communication and writing skills required.
